If he did, he hasn't admitted to it.

The nearest I can think he's got to Tim Burton's work on the album is 'Cutz' borrowing from 'Edward Scissorhands'.

I doubt it.

What track/s were you thinking of inparticular? You'd be suprised how often similar songs are written by different composers just by pure coincidence. There's only so many 'good melodies' out there. I think you're looking too deep for something that isn't there. Let us know what in particular you're talking about, because from memory I don't hear too many similarities...

my friend was telling me, nearly the entire album is one from of scale created by some english guy in the 19th century. a very cliched version of classical music. to me it seems like the entire album is created from ear (the usual prince way of making music). yet classical music is not so much about creating from ear, it's about scales movements and finding out the natural progression.

i agree with you these tracks sound very tim burton like. i think they both used romantic scales. i don't know. someone with more classical knowledge would have more to offer than me

btw i still love these three songs

Oh common, to an untrained ear, all classical sounding music sounds like eachother.

Whenever I listen to Danny Elfman's music (composer of orchestral scores for Batman, Edward Scissorhands and indeed The Nightmare Before Christmas, I hear influences of so many classic composers...

Listen to ANY Wolfgang Amadé Mozart choral work and know where John Williams found his inpsiration for all the new trilogy choral pieces on the Star Wars scores.

Then again, Danny Elfman borrowed a bit of Scandalous on the first Batman score, so maybe Prince decided to steal some back.

And "Danny Elfman" doesn't even make his own songs. It's actually an alias that's used by a group of New York based professional musicians who just use Danny as a figurehead. Danny can't write full orchestral pieces himself. Inner-circle information! Very reliable.

Sure, and Prince does not excist either. It's really Jesse Johnson and Morris Day and the guy that portrays Prince is just a figurehead.

Really! The voices in my head told me so.

Actually, I once met this guy in London who was a professional sound engineer and insisted that indeed this would be the case. He claimed to know the real author(/s) himself. I found it hard to believe, but he was so adamant about it I really started almost doubting.
