Although i was just really tuning into this tune, it's just the way i was feeling the song when i started the topic.

Sometimes Prince's music takes on other meanings for me, beyond the surface and obvious. I'm not sure if it's the sound of his voice or the way he combines his music and lyrics. So anyway, I was thinking about when 2 R in love, but what happens if the "2" r not together...but are alone...yet because they are in love, although apart they are together. Easy to hear When 2 R alone at this point.


It's kind of like sometimes when I hear Prince play Bambi. I'll hear him say 'it's better with the Band' like the first time i heard the song...even tho by now i know that it's better with a man.

I think of fish when I hear this song. Sardine mostly.
