Ok so I am new to the site and happened to find it by mistake. I am so happy I did I am very much a Prince fan. Although I was wondering if anyone could help me with a problem I have been dealing with for a while and maybe I just am not computer savy enough to figure it out, but I digress.
I am looking for a way to find a list of every Prince song EVER and what the relationship is, whether he wrote it, sung it, played it, whatever. I have had trouble since He was Prince, Prince & The Revolution, The artist formely know as, etc...Plus that still gives me no idea about written lyrics. I may be wrong but I was told he wrote nothing compares sung by Sinead O'Connor. I would have never thought of that. If anyone can please help the new girl in the neighborhood I would very much appreciate it.

Prince has written so many songs (about 1500 released songs I believe, and yet more that he is known to have recorded but not yet officially released - called 'vault' items, many of which are unofficially available as 'bootlegs') that it is hard to list them in an easy manner to reference.

Yes, he did write Nothing Compares 2 U. It was originally released by a band he put together called 'The Family' on their own album - way back in '85. There is a live version sung by Prince on the album The Hits/The B-Sides.

He has written many songs that have been hits for other artists, the most famous of which are Manic Monday by The Bangles and I Feel 4 U by Chaka Khan.
