Least favourite album cover? I would have to go for The Gold Experience
i mean look at the font for Gold. It just looks really cheap. I cant believe that was the best he could come up with. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Gold ( I even would have preferred the "original", golden aluminum foil one that David Letterman held in his hand to the one that got released) Black Album, obviously, but then again, that was part of the plan, so it´s OK. Emancipation ( looked like a cheap ass Nintendo game ) All Steve Parke covers in general...Parke might me a cool artist, don´t know, but his work for Prince sucked. Reminded me of PixNPixels/No Limit records, in a bad way. Album covers were, IMO, always an important part of the whole "new Prince album coming out" experience and excitement. It all stopped when the cheap looking album covers started coming out. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! The cover of Prince looks a bit shite to be honest.
Just looks like he had the seat too low when he had his passport photo taken. The pic of him on the unicorn would have made a far superior cover. | |
