7 Minutes MoQuake! Aargh! I love it!
Is this his best "Alternate Version"? I think it just might be.

It certainly is up there with the extended version of La La La He He He.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Every B-Side from the Sign O' The Times singles was funky. Not one rocker or ballad. Just pure funk.

Was this ever officialy available on cd?

I love this song. I play it more than the original. The way all of the band members trade off solos is incredible. It really shows how talented that band was.

I remember, after getting the 12", wondering why he never spliced both versions together to make one giant monster!
So, using the pause button on my RadioShack Clarinette 110 cassette deck, I did it myself, dammit!!! Great! Now I gotta go find that mix tape Prost! "Whatever skin we're in

I'm pretty sure it was all Prince except for Atlanta and Eric doing the trumpet and sax solos. But, that band was indeed a great one! Prost! "Whatever skin we're in

It sounds more like a "Part 2" rather than an entirely different version. I combined the two also. I'm thinking about combining the two versions of the "Batdance" 12 Inch together also. Was this ever officialy available on cd? Unless there was a radio promo CD, no. CD Singles didn't really take off until 1988 I guess. I bought the 'U Got The Look' cassette single last year. It was still wrapped in cellophane and never been played. After cleaning the heads on my cassette deck, I wired it up to my PC's soundcard and voila - it sounded perfect. I digitally removed what little hiss there was - I didn't use Dolby. It sounds better than the album version on CD.

I actually did that with a few of these "Part 2"-type counterparts back in the good ol' 80's Alphabet St. w/ TINMTIAT (I especially liked this one!!!) Batdance Batmix w/ VV Mix Hot Thing Ext. w/ Dub It's probably alot easier now then it was back then with a turntable and tape deck Plus it would sound alot better Prost! "Whatever skin we're in

I thought about doing it with "Hot Thing" because that dub is much better than vocal version, except it needs some vocals in it. I also combined "Grace/777-9311" and "Private Joy/Orgasm". Co-sign, ThreadBare. I was always amazed that Prince blatantly sampled that without credit (probably as a jab at Jesse, because that was on the album that Jesse named Shockadelica to get back at Prince before Prince released his Shockadelica song).
By the way, this sample of Crazay isn't saying "music", it's Sly Stone vocalizing on "Oo-Yeah". Check Jesse's song out to hear for yourself...

Yeah, I always took it to be about jealousy, knowing how deeply influenced Prince was by Sly, and then a "rival" does a duet with him, a funky one at that...
