its fuckin terrible, Prince needs to be Prince Not Jimi, not Carlos, not this one or that one.Prince wouldnt know the blues if it bit him on his lil yellow ass

I was pretty skeptical about that myself. Prince can play like a madman - but he's a perfectionist, and you can tell he doesn't really know how to let himself go completely and cut loose when he's playing. Those two factors are pretty much the opposite of blues.

However... I've heard John Lee Hookers version of Red House, and that alone makes the whole disc worth it! And it's always a treat to hear SRV lay down some Hendrix!

Anyway. I think it's cool that Prince did it - regardless of how it came out. So I'm sure it'll be worth hearing!

- Yes, I agree. But on the other hand he made a non-blues-cliche version of Red House. I liked his version, it surprised me. I thought he would contribute with that Rave 2000 bluesy jam (that is called ´Red House´ by some people), but he paid a nice tribute to Jimi.

Have I missed something...Jimi was blues?? I've got more listening to do.
