NPGMC Year 1 studio tracks that have not resurfaced... Here are the tracks that were released by NPGMC in 2001 but have not reappeared in the Musicology download room:
Funky Design Mad Splash Habibi Van Gogh My Medallion Rebirth Of The Flesh (Rehearsal ’88) Contest Song The Undertaker (Live) We Gon' Make It Funky (Live) Poorgoo (Live) Breathe Madrid 2 Chicago What order would you burn these on disc to make it flow well? [Incidentally, the live/rehearsal tracks are included because no other studio version was released; similarly, I'm omitting a few tracks deliberately: Instrumental was really an instrumental remix of The Holy River; Hit U In The Socket was by Rosie Gaines; Jukebox With A Heartbeat was never released separately from the NPG Ahdio Show on which it appeared; and Get Wild (Miami Mix) was a remix of the NPG track]

Here's a two disc compilation I made from the 'left over' NPGMC tracks from 2001.
Splash Silicon SM Groove My Medalion Habibi We March (live) Vicki Waiting (live) Letitgo (live) Return of the Bump Squad (live) Contest Song Cybersingle Funky Design Mad Get Wild (Miami Mix) Hit U In the Socket Van Gogh Magnificent Madrid 2 Chicago Breathe (Holy River) Instrumental Here's my reasoning: First I wouldn't include anything from "The Undertaker", since that is available complete and in much better quality on video and laserdisc (and promo CD). I also omitted anything released in video format (like "We Gon Make It Funky"), since I consider that a more complete release than an MP3 release. And the "Rebirth of the Flesh" rehearsal...well, I already had it in a more complete form and better quality on a Live Lovesexy rehearsal disc. On the first disc I included "Silicon" and "SM Groove" because they are slightly different edits of what appear on "The Slaughterhouse" and I included the live tracks from '95 because they omitted "Return of the Bumpsquad" from the recent "Live from Paisley Park" download on NPGMC. I thought it best to keep all those live tracks all together. On the second disc I added "Cybersingle" even though it was not technically from the 2001 Club, because I thought it deserved a home someplace. I saw no reason to omit "Get Wild (Miami Mix)", "(Holy River) Instrumental" and "Hit U In the Socket", since these are legitimate Prince tracks even though they are all remixes. And "Magificent" needed a home just a badly as "Cybersingle" and it fits very nicely. So there you go.

'My Medallion' is a shameless copy of 'Spill the wine' from Eric Burdon & the Animals. He probably got sued and will never rerelease this song.

Nice. I guess everyone's compilations would be different. It would be nice if NPGMC just released The Undertaker album, the Madrid 2 Chicago album, and a compilation album for the remaining tracks (like TCI and Slaughterhouse), although I think Ludwig may be right about My Medallion (in a similar way to Guess Who's Knockin' being removed from later presses of Gold N***a) But yes, I'm starting to think Cybersingle and When Will We B Paid? should also be on my new compilation.

Yeah, I guess the choruses are pretty similar sounding, but they are two completely different songs. "My Medallion" is a better song, IMO. It cracks me up every time I listen to it.

That would be far too simple and logical for the NPGMC.
