Semantics smile Midnight Saturday is really Sunday...but yes, according to your post and my belief, the showing is Saturday into Sunday...not Friday into Saturday.

I just read this and it made my head spin! lol To avoid confusion, they should just advertise it starting at 11:59 PM Saturday night. That is, indeed, when they do the midnight showings, not at the end of the evening on Friday nights.

I saw something about it at on KSTP mornining news today, and it's apparently the first time it's been shown on the big screen in 15 years. It's part of a documentary film festival, so I would expect the crowd to be larger - if only slightly - than the crowd for Under the Cherry Moon.

I posted this ealier but here is what Chris Hewitt wrote about this film when trying to capsulize the film festival for the Pioneer Press.

"I didn't see this vintage Pricne concert film when it came out, but it's adorable now. The little skits the dancers enact during performance of his songs play like those goofy high school swing choir show, except there's a guy in cut-out jumpsuits preening and swearing behind them."

lol You know I never really thought about it but the skits are real silly.

I actually have a peach shirt I was looking at yesterday but when I tried it on it was too big.

Before my stepdad died this spring he used to spend huge money on his clothes so I grabbed a bunch of shirts as my mom was packing for godwill but sadly for me they just don't really fit me that well. It kind of makes me sad. I need to find someone bigger then me who would really appreciate 100 dollar shirts smile Next time I have a poker game maybe I'll see if they fit any of my friends.

it was LOADS of fun, of course! I had never seen this on the big screen before, so I was noticing lotsa little things I'd never seen before...mainly specific things with outfits, little facial expressions, etc. Also, I hadn't probably watched this movie at all in 5 years or more. So, it was just awesome to be reminded of how perfect it really is.

I saw this movie 3 times when it first came out in the theater and dozens of times at home until I learned that it was lip-synched and watching it last night I couldn't believe I ever thought it was live big grin

It was a good time seeing it in the theater again and the print was still in great shape considering it was an original.

I had previously seen this movie on a VHS I rented from Hollywood Video this summer and I was sadly not impressed.

Seeing it last night I was blown away. It was like seeing the film for the first time! I had my jaw dropped during If I Was Ur Girlfriend (I thought that was one of the numbers he didn't perform). I can't believe he could make a song that good better live. I can't even listen to the studio SOTT because of how great that was.

The audience was pretty much really into it. They went crazy when Prince busted into one of his awesome dance routines . The biggest applauses were (IMO):

- When Prince first appeared
- When that thundering guitar for SOTT began
- When Prince slid on the floor in Housequake
- When Prince bit off Cat's skirt thing

Anyone hear that crazy woman who was like "NPG CLUB MEMBERS REPRESENT!", "You shoulda called me! I have it on DVD! Shoulda called a REAL fan!" and who, when Prince first appeared, said "DAMN! STILL FINE!" lol lol

I actually almost didn't go. My friend bailed on me so I had to go with my mom. I finally decided I needed to do this 2 hours before the movie began.

Well, I didn't regret any of it.

Some assholes to the left of me were laughing during If I Was Ur Girlfriend.mad It frustrated me cause that's one of the only songs I find truly perfect.

Too bad you couldn't make it. sad

Yeah I was working. You had to go with your mom? Haha..actually if I wasn't working I would have taken my mother with me! When I was a kid we used to love watching Sign of the Times together...we both loved his music and oh yeah we both thought he was a hottie!

I don't know why someone would laugh at If I was your girlfriend...the whole Prince is gay/Prince is a girl joke is sooooo old.

My mom enjoyed it quite a bit. She's actually the one who got me into Prince by taking to me to see the 2nd Musicology show. I had also listened to his "Best Of" cd that she owned and was obsessed with "When Doves Cry". I remember asking my mom if Prince would play When Doves Cry a lot. (I didn't know it was a huge hit razz ) and when that intro started I was like "Aw, hell yes!"

I wish I didn't have to but she couldn't really leave a 16 year old in there by himself with all those adults.

We talked about what we liked in the movie and she said:

"It's too bad that he couldn't play all of the songs off that album. What else is on there?"

and I said "Strange Relationship"

And she nodded and said "Oh, what about Alphabet St ?"
