I believe your story Gohi. Your father must've gotten Prince on a good day. I've heard stories of him totally ignoring people who've asked him for autographs. She and her husband were walking in the airport and her husband said "Is that Prince?" and she looks and sure enough it is the short lil fella. Her husband thinks that he can get away with asking Prince for an autograph. She protests and thinks that it'll just make him mad. Her husband moves on, leaving her no choice but to follow. So the guy walks up to Prince and asks: " Hi Prince! Can I get an autograph!" to his wife's embarassment. So Prince says: " Eye'm sorry, eye don't do autographs... but eye can give u something better" and Prince pulls out a Watchtower and hands it to him before turning around and walking away with his posse'. - - - Sorry if that was hard to read. Kinda busy. Um, this happened to my mom's friend not my mom otherwise I would have said my "Dad" asked Prince for an autograph. (Sorry if I worded it oddly) If it was my dad I'd be like " Dad if you so much as approach Prince I will run far away from you so Prince does not hate my sorry ass as well as yours!" | |

Oh, Anxiety, I don't think getting books signed is the same thing at all! I often go to book signings for authors that I like and treasure the ones that I have gotten signed. Walking up and asking someone for their autograph, even people that I like as much as Prince, just seems as pointless as you suggest. I haven't done anything like that since middle school! I have approached artists from time to time and said how much I like their work and have gotten positive responses from them for that. Makes more sense to me! Never trust anything spoken in the presence of an erection.
