My mom was talking to a friend from work yesterday and she told her that she saw Prince in a Minnesota airport a few weeks ago. Here's the story:

She and her husband were walking in the airport and her husband said "Is that Prince?" and she looks and sure enough it is the short lil fella.

Her husband thinks that he can get away with asking Prince for an autograph. She protests and thinks that it'll just make him mad. Her husband moves on, leaving her no choice but to follow.

So the guy walks up to Prince and asks:

" Hi Prince! Can I get an autograph!" to his wife's embarassment.

So Prince says:

" Eye'm sorry, eye don't do autographs... but eye can give u something better"

and Prince pulls out a Watchtower and hands it to him before turning around and walking away with his posse'.

i like getting books autographed sometimes, if the author is someone i really admire. it's kind of a motivating thing for me and my own writing, though i'm sure that doesn't make a whole lot of sense to anyone but me.

if i had a chance to meet someone like prince or bowie in a regular situation (like at an airport), i wouldn't dream of asking them for an autograph. if i felt comfortable approaching them at all, i'd probably just try to shake their hand and mention some concert i'd been to that i really enjoyed, and maybe thank them for making music that makes me happy.

I would have been so hurt. When I was child my mother spent so much money(welfare money) buying me Prince CDs, posters, movies & concert tickets. I not saying he should sign autographs but I would have been very hurt and disappointed. He's almost like a hero 2 me, maybe that's wrong but it's true.

Sorry this is hard for me to believe after just reading today he was hangin' out at the Maxim/Mag Bloomingsdale party in Los Angeles without Mani. This is a magazine with a bunch of half naked women appearing in it and the photo they took of him had a half naked woman posing behind him!!! Please!!! So he must be living a double life!! I would tell him that if he autographs it, I would keep it. With it autographed, it would be something that I would save and perhaps read one day.....yeah right! Otherwise, it's going in the trash.

Whoever that guy was, he was a Bold One! His hands probably got tired and besides, I've never really wanted an autograph from him. I think I'm weird. Although, I would take the Watchtower from him!
