They are closer to strat pickups, and the combination of the maple body and neck with these pickups makes these guitars spanky rhythm monsters...just listen to any prince album from 1978 to 1988(and later) and you'll hear this guitar sound.

I think it's cool how Prince still uses that guitar since 1979-80 I think. I cant see him without it now. He started using it again when he went back 2 Prince cuz I dont remember  ever using it.
It's cool but I damn well wouldn't buy it. Some people think I'm kinda cute
