Everybody hates Chris

I hope I'm posting in the right section.

On an uncoming episode of Everybody hates Chris on the UPN TV station, Chris Rock will have a Halloween episode where he dressed up as Prince. I read this in the recent Entertainment Weekly magazine. The one with Chris Rock and the boy on the show on the front cover.

i tried watching this show a week or two ago but i just didn't think it was that great. neutral id heard so much hype about it so maybe my expectations were too high.

maybe i should give another chance some other time and i'll like it more

I think it's a really good show. I've spotted some pop culture anachronisms, but they aren't too glaring.

I'm hoping they don't make one of those mistakes with the Prince Halloween costume. Keep an eye out and remember the year is supposed to be 1982.

Not enough witty humour, but nice try.

Well you would have to have a sense humor and you may have to be a child of the 80's.

The show is funny and shows ordinary working black people trying to raise their kids. Something we don't see a lot on television today.

It's one of the most realistic portrayals of "old school" black families I've ever seen. I find myself relating to a lot of the family stuff,

They probably will mess up the year bcuz there was a mention about crack and crack hadn't hit hard yet

Absolutely LOVE the show. I was 10 years old in 1982 and can relate to so much about the show. Everything from the clothing to the background music seems like a snap shot from my life.

Also, There are certain things that I think only African Americans can relate to and that show portrays some of those things. I can remember watching cartoons with my cousins without the volume because we couldn't wake our dad. And standing outside waiting for your sibling to get home from school so they can unlock the door so we can get in. And watching a black woman with the pink soft rollers in her hair walking down the street scratching the back of her head. Brilliant situations and imagery on that show.

And can I just say that Teschina Arnold already deserves and Emmy. She plays her part so well.

The 3rd episode wasn't that great but the first two and the last one was great!. Last week, was I the only one yelling at the TV, "GIRL EAT THAT SAUSAGE!!!!"?

LOVE the show!.

Yeah, I noticed that too. The "crack baby" comment. But I couldn't recall if Chris Rock said it during narration, which wouldn't make it an error, or if a character on the show said it.

I noticed that the kid who plays Chris Rock is dressed like Prince in a head shot in the new TVGuide and made a note to be sure not to miss it next week.

I agree with the Tichina Arnold comment, too. She is so damn funny and at the same time so real in that role! I remember my mom forcing me to eat something I said I didn't like. Most of that stuff though, I STILL don't like!

Girlfriends is a comedy/soap opera, fine if you like that. The Parkers was just bad.

Yeah, but I don't think they were actually calling it "crack" at that point, although I could be wrong.

Either way, I'm nitpicking. I really like the show, as I've said. And I like that it's kicking the shit out of Joey on NBC.

Being superior to two shitty shows isn't too impressive if you ask me.
