Apparantly I'm not the only person here who "don't understand shit" so I will school you a bit on digital recording(I won't bother giving my credentials, just trust me when I say that I know more than you in this area).
You can take a 8,16 or 24 bit sample and convert the sample into as high as 96k.
Also,as far back as 1979 WB were storing Prince's 2 track masters onto digital tape, making the 8 bit samples perfect 24 bit resolution-that was 1979-imagine what could be done with the original multi-track tapes and todays digital technology. The albums would sound much better I am sure.
Seems to me there is no basis for your argument whatsoever and you are just trying for some strange reason to pick a fight with me.
how original you are. wink

Okay, you win. WB is fucking Prince over and you're 100% correct on the technical stuff. thumbs up!

exactly what is your argument here?
I feel that WB & Prince should come to terms and put the remasters together, most "fan's" would want this also, wouldn't they? Many folks here and at the other web sites complain about this point almost daily!consensus say's-REMASTER THE PRINCE BACK CATALOGUE!!

what would putting together a list of who and who doesn't have remasterd albums availiable prove?nada...ziltch...
we are not talking about other WB artist's in this example,we are talking about Prince.Prince does not have alot of his WB product availiable in today's advanced technical medium, being standard redbook 24 bit remastered audio cd's.
like I said, what exactly is your argument here?

RepoMan said:

WB simply won't consider remastering his stuff just because a few fans on a couple forums would like them to.

Then explain why artist's such as Dire Straits,Black Sabbath,Deep Purple,Montrose,Bonnie Raitt,Little Feat etc..all WB artist's,all have extensive remasters and Prince does not?
It very well could be that Prince isn't giving his consent and so be it,I won't lose a wink of sleep over it.
How do you validate Montrose, for example, having their albums remastered and not an artist like Prince?
[Edited 10/19/05 10:27am]

It is quite simple, Prince will not sign off on a remastering project. Prince wants his masters back, and WB isn't going give them to him, so he isn't going to allow them to release remasters. They are at a stalemate, with the fans being the ones who lose.

I forgot about that! Oh well, no need for that vid to be released, as all those compilation vids suck.

Why do people act like this is the worst song he has ever done? I'd pick it over Delirious, Horny Toad or Jack U Off any day. Not to mention the lame ass shit he has released in the past 7 years or so.

I understand that taste is a personal matter and that one's opinion is to be respected-but-when you pick "arm's of orion" over tracks like "delirious" & "horny toad"-you speak volumes about yourself.
You,repoman,have very bad taste.

RepoMan has great taste. But I do like the funkabilly of Horny Toad and such.

The price is a bit steep so I assume people aren't buying it just for the music videos. It's great to have them here, finally. It's a shame Prince tries not to acknowledge "Batman". What are the orgins of the album? HOw did the process work? Did he see the movie than write and create the soundtrack? Did he add the bites of dialouge in later. Sorry if I'm late to this topic....

Prince acknowledges the Batman film very much with even the voices and dialogue inserted within songs and between songs. The origins of the album: Burton and Jack/Joker r both Prince admires, and the producer had been trying 2 persuade Prince 2 write 2 songs 4 the film 4 the Joker art museum scene and the Joker balloons scene. Burton originally used Baby I'm A Star and 1999 4 those 2 scenes. Albert Magnoi took over as Prince's manager and persuaded Prince 2 visit the awesome, 5 city block Gotham City set (largest built since Cleopatra in the 60's), where he meet Tim Burton in the Batcave. Prince said he had "never seen anything like this before." Prince talked with Tim Burton, meet Kim Basinger and Jack Nicholson, a Prince fan actually. after Prince saw the kind of film they were making, gothic, atmospheric and adult, not a kiddie movie, Prince got excited. Prince had a vision 4 what the music should sound like. Prince want back 2 Paisley Park and made 11 songs in just 13 days for Batman. Much more then Danny Elfman within 13 days. 200 Balloons, Dance With the Devil, The Future, Electric Chair, Arms of Orion, Trust, Lemon Crush, Scandalous, Batdance and changed Anna Waiting 2 Vicki Waiting. Partyman is from 1984 4 the Time originally.

I will still get the Batman special edition dvd 2 disc set 4 Batdance! And the other awesome extras! But the short version of Partyman gets me angry! Cuz I love that video and want it on dvd! At least I still have it on video tape from '89.

They did the same thing with "Thieves In The Temple" on the "Graffiti Bridge" DVD.

Yeah, thats true, but they made up 4 that (4 me at least) with The Question Of U live from the Nude tour on the Graffiti Bridge DVD but Partyman however is such an awesome video directed by Albert Magnoli and goes with Batdance.
Just half the video is disappointing. Oh well, half the video on DVD is better then nothing and it's great to have Batdance on DVD.
The whole killer video of Batdance.
