Victor Wooten & Prince In The Studio: Vic says one day it's gonna happen Bassist extraordinaire VICTOR WOOTEN visited the "Upper Room with Joe Kelley & Gi Dussault" this week while out on his "Soul Circus" tour. Amongst several interesting musical topics, Victor talked at length about his performance at the Celebration at Paisley Park and his feelings that he and Prince will record in the studio one day. They have kept in touch since the Celebration. Victor also spoke about his father's passing, and his admiration for all the great bass heros who he pays tribute to in a song on Soul Circus. He recently played in Minneapolis and Jellybean Johnson (on guitar) and St. Paul Peterson joined him onstage. You can listen to the interview this weekend at www.upperroomwithjoekelley.com and listen to it this Monday from 4-8pm EST on WVOF 88.5 FM in Fairfield, CT at www.wvof.org. I hope that Victor's feelings are correct. Seeing him at Paisley i agree that he is 'Bass Extraordinaire' and it'd be amazing to see him play with P soon.
