Empty Room Interesting lil' track. I LUV the guitar work on this song!
Although, I do believe like a bunch of other songs of P's this has more than one version. How do I tell which one I have? "Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

Well, how many verses does it have?
And do they include the "found a strand of your hair by the bathroom window" line? Does it sound live or like a studio version?

It includes that line and this one sounds like a studio cut. "Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. Prince You've finally found your way back home. Well Done.

sounds like it may be the version that was shown in a video before P's tour a while ago. There's an earlier version with fewer lyrics, and it's a bit more spare musically. Then there's the live version Prince released a while ago. They're all great - it's a wonderful song - and there may be more (they're the ones i'm familiar with, anyway). Others will know, anyhow. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I don't know if the one with "the strand of her hair line" is the one that is supposed to be longer but thats the one I have. I also have a live one that i think is the one he released to NPGMC as a add on to C-Note I believe it was. "Why'd I waste my kisses on you baby?" R.I.P. a very beautiful song
i remember hearing that early version many years ago and never understanding why Prince didn't release it such a gorgeous and personal tune so heartfelt, and i loved the way it builds i heard it was to be included on the do anything soundtrack and then when he finally performed it live, at one of the celebrations i thought it really funny that so many people already knew the song it's one of his most-loved unreleased songs (not counting the C-NOTE version)

A brilliant song - one of his best.
Fell in love with it alomg with Zannalee and Same December from the first night of the Gold 'Ultimate Experience' Tour when it was shown on the video screen. The video was filmed in 1994 but the original track was written in 1986. In fact some say the 1994 version is a rework using most of the basic 1986 track. Anyway always be a favourite of mine.

The live version is by far the best version. Sounds very haunting! "Man, the living creature, the creating individual, is always more important than any established style or system" - Bruce Lee

One of his sexiest guitar solos.
