Maroon 5 Sites Prince as Inspiration 4 New Album This is from MTV.com 10/26/05.
Maroon 5 have yet to pick a producer but have a few "brilliantly talented" people in mind, Levine said. As for the direction of their sound, the singer has been listening to a lot of early Prince and said that influence is coming out in his songwriting. I love Prince and M5 so I'm pretty excited to hear about this! Love Ya'll Tuffycat! SO WHAT IF WE'RE CONTROLLING ALL THE OIL, IS IT WORTH THE CHILD DYING 4?

I read an article about the influence of Purple Rain and the singer of Maroon 5 said 'Purple Rain kicks so much ass'. I'm not a big fan but thought "well, at least they have some taste"  | |

Levine obviously loves Prince. From hints in their sound to his whole pouty sex-kitten look in all his photos.
Not that he actually soundslike Prince when he solos on guitar, but he also reminds me of Prince a bit when he does. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

There a cool band, Prince should produce something for them.
He focuses on Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Andre3000, etc. and always forgets the influence he's had on rock-pop artists too If you will, so will I | |
