If Prince had put out the single at the same time as the online downloads, then maybe the combined attention would have propelled it up the charts. But then, chart position isn't the point of this particular release, is it? Whereas MJs is a lot to do with recovering his career.

More money for the cause. Most people who have already downloaded it will also buy the Cd single since the money is going to a good cause. I mean, we're not talking about spending tons of money.
And to the genius who said Prince's single can't compete with MJ's single, can you at least wait till MJ gets his song out there. Judging from his past record releases, MJ's "From The Bottom Of My Heart" or whatever he's calling it now, should be done in time for hurricane season 2008.

I feel the free download I got was a waste of bandwidth. Definitely won't buy it. This shit is weak.

i'd like us to start an e-campaign to get the word out on this....the girlbros fans did this for the release of girlbros...meshell's fanbase did it for Cookie...just emailing radiostations, e-news sites and what not..

its for a good cause and it gets exposure for prince.....


and btw: i think this is proof that prince reads the org.....we talk about sade being someone that prince should feel challenged by and he listens to her...we talk about us missing long version jams of tunes and prince releases a b-side thats a jam and a long version....we complain about not having hard copies of songs and prince releases a hard copy...

and im buying this and telling everyone i know to buy it..its for charity.
