yo,

1. The Doors - The Doors
2. Heroes - David Bowie
3. Sign O' the times - Prince
4. Off the wall - Michael jackson
5. The rise and fall of ziggy stardust and the spiders from mars - david bowie

ask me next week and this list will probably look entirely different. There are about 20 30 albums that i would think about being the greatest albums ever. Five is a really short list for century's of music don ya think?
It was not in vain...it was in Minneapolis!

No particular order:

Prince - Parade
Velvet Underground - The Velvet Underground
Sam Cooke - Live at the Harlem Sqaure Club 1963
Fleetwood Mac - Tusk (probably only a temporary spot in the top 5)
Zombies - Odyssey and Oracle

Honourable mentions to Television's "Marquee Moon," Pavement "Slanted and Enchanted," Joni Mitchell's "Blue, and various albums by Beach Boys, Beatles, Elvis Costello, Sly and the Family Stone etc...

Although most probably won't care, here are my favourite Canadian (my homeland) albums ever in my opinion, not including Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, and the Band:

Sloan - Twice Removed, One Chord to Another
Inbreds - Winning Hearts
Joel Plaskett - In Need of Medical Attention
New Pornographers - Mass Romantic
Weakerthans - Left and Leaving
Julie Doiron and Wooden Stars
kd lang - Ingenue
Rufus Wainwright - Self Titled
Ron Sexsmith - ALL!
Buck 65 - Vertex, Man Overboard

It is a crying shame that nobody outside of Canada knows of anyone but Celine, Shania, and Alanis as our musical exports.
