Prince shunned on radio....

Prince was shunned on C95 in Saskatoon, SK for canceling his show the same day that C95 was giving away tickets and has just spoke with maseo. The day after the show was cancelled they declared a Prince Shunning day...Later "When Doves Cry" began to play, hardly a minute through the song the hosts mentioned "Is this Prince?" and shut the song off stating that he will no longer be in their playlist.

I am upset that P cancelled the same day of the show, but does he deserve that kinda b.s?

If Prince fans care, they can let the radio station know unless they are mad at him, too.

Who cares? They're playing a song from 1984 anyway.

Well, I don't think that he deserves that kind of treatment. However, Prince hardly plays Canada. The last time he was in the T-dot was in 1997, I can understand why the people of Saskatoon would be a little pissed. .

Hell, I would be too if he, after all I did to get tickets, cancelled the Hamilton show.

Sure, him cancelling a show isn't anything new, but have some compassion. Everyone in Canada wants just a glimpse of the legend, the man, the myth that is Prince... even if it is every 4 or 5 years.

I aint mad no more that he cancelled. I can't be mad at him. Sh*t happens! I am upset with his stupid club though for not refunding me 209 dollars for the tickets.

And yes, C95 was absolutely retarded for doing that altho they musta been just as aggitated considering it was the second time (the following year) that he cancelled his show in S'toon.

LOL...it's funny how they can do that NOW, when
they don't even play his new songs...would they
have boycotted him in '84?? Hell no, it's all
about money 4 radio...sad.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

No compassion...
So u say he won't come to U...but, he's opened
up Paisley 4 U.
How much is a "legend" worth 2 U?

Good. I'm glad they cancelled. Prince gets enough radio play as it is, considering the garbage he releases. He screwed the station over - they spent money on promoting him & his show. Now, they're doing something well within their right.

hehehehee...isn't it the truth? I don't think the radio stations around here realize that Prince made albums after 1984. lol
