Meaning Of Purple Rain I have heard Purple Rain the single too many times.
Although I've infinetly heard I still don't knownthe meaning of it. I've heard many interpretations of the meaning and even heard Prince talk about it on the Hit"n Run Tour. But whatis Purple Rain specifically about. It maybe sung from Prince perspective or even "God's". The B-side ot Purple Rain was a very religious song. He's so good at hiding the meaning particuarly religious ones like in I WOuld Die 4U. SO doesn't anyone know for certain what hte song Purple Rain is about? Working up a purple sweat.

I read some description years ago (can't remember where) that said Heaven has 7 levels, and each level has a corresponding color. When each level blends into the other, the color is so bright, it looks like it's raining that color onto the level below. Purple is supposedly the corresponding color of the seventh and highest level, where God sits. So if your soul reaches the 6th level (the highest a human can go) then you will be "laughing/bathing" in purple rain.
Does that make sense to you?

Some say that it is a metaphor for the female orgasm.

It doesn't really mean anything in the end, just like "Purple Haze" is just something arbitrary. It's just something he came up with. The song could have been called "I still love you" but had it been called that it probably wouldn't have been considered such a classic with Prince repeatedly singing "I still love you" in the chorus instead of "purple rain".

I can't exactly say that, but there's some metaphysical mumbo-jumbo (for lack of a better phrase) that somehow connects colors to various spiritual issues. Purple is supposedly the color of God. Don't ask me how, i don't make the rules, i just make fun of them.

Heaven? ![]() I don't believe that but now that I think about it I have heard Prince say that he was in a spiritual time that... time

Well basically he's saying after all i've put you through, maybe something hasnt worked out but in the end i have no hate i just wanna see you reach that high spirituality level thing for a human and finally go to heaven and be near God. No Freestyling.
