Do Me Baby was the song that got me hooked on Prince.

Where is he, by the way?

Um, I love this song.

But nowhere in this song does he sound macho and in control. The whole song is sung from the perspective of a very vulnerable man who is a slave to his all-encompassing desires. He is so fucking horny that it nearly incapacitates him, to the point that he no longer wants to seduce and "do" his lady; all he can do is lay back and beg her to do him like he's never been done before, to just give it to him until he can't take anymore. That's some pretty un-macho shit. Hot. But un-macho.

-----
I don't think he was trying to be macho in the song. I think his whole thing is looking at the way woman can make a man totally lose it and no longer be in control. We have all the power.

Yeah, ya'll do! Umm.., I guess I shouldn't be surprised that NO ONE on here has mentioned that this is an Andre Cymone composition. Oh well. But uh, yeah, when I was in Jr. High, this was my "screw in a red light bulb, put the tape deck on auto repeat, and make out forever and dryhump with what ever girl u were with" song. P was boy and all, BUT I could never get with that sissy ass sounding shit at the end "Hold me...I'm so cold". Negro please. But the girls back then ate that shit up and P knew that. Ya'll women had to watch P back then though. His crazy ass would fuck around and tie your ass up and shit. And then go sit in a corner and stare at u for an hour.

Yeah, I do remember from the Andre Cymone interview posted in the "Associated Artist" section that he said he had a lot to do with the sparse arrangements and the heavy bass in that song. You can tell actually, it's not hard to believe. Your right about women eating that up, because it works for me. When I hear him moaning and sighing, it exudes vulnerability and sensitivity which is exactly what I want to hear as a woman. To the woman who said that song isn't macho is off base completely. Prince knew exactly what he was doing. He was putting raw unabashed sexuality right on wax. A man "nutting" on record had not been done so intensley before him. Just the fact that he had that audacity to do that makes him more man than any crooner before or after him.

Now don't get me started on the many records he has where he speaks of cunnilingus and beautifully describes his love for it in detail and even breathtakingly performs it on records (Come!)

God, what a man.

This is the Prince song that all I have to hear is the opening piano slide and my eyes brighten and instant excitement occurs. This song works every time. The space the soft dirty vocals, the screams, lustful pleading, the breathing and sighing and then the wonderful orgasm at the end.

The orgasm is the best part. It shows a man starting out very manly in control then towards the end he's vulnerable, shivering and longing to be held.

In 7 minutes he explored lust, longing, conquest, vulnerability and sensitivity.

I'd say out of every erotic song ever made, it's the top song to have playing if you want to take a romantic evening to the next level biggrin

I was in awe the first time I listened to this track. From start to finish, I get a lusty grin on my face. If he were in the same room with me, I'd do him. OH YEAAH.

for me to laugh at, and then...

...to promptly poop on!!!! sorry, but the last minute of the song does nothing for me except give me an aching face and teary eyes from laughing so hard at it. the rest of the song's fine, yeah, but that last minute...uh-uh.

Nah... the orgasm is perfect. When the song was released it was daring and naughty at the same time, fitting his sexual satyr image to a T. Besides it's the logical conclusion.

Co-Sign. Great that somebody else gets that P is not a fool. He knows just how to pull woman in and let's be hones he would not still have a carreer if he did not know how to do.

the first time i ever heard the full version of this song was on the school bus. i was in the seat with my friend heather, and i had NO idea that the song went for like 3 more minutes. (i had heard it on a hits cd, with that last few minutes deleted or sumthin) i was just mindin my own buisness, starin out the window and i heard it was like OMFG. eek and then i started to actually listen to it. and it was so embarassing cuz i was like , flippin out on the bus. i was all smiling and stuff, and heather just looked at me and said
"well...don't u look happy."
i couldn't even say anything to her. i thought if i opened my mouth, i would scream. all i could do was squirm. lol. and that's my tale.

but i really do LOVE this song. and International Lover is a great follow-up.

I always thought the song had more comedic power than anything -- for all the reasons others call it erotic. shrug

And, his interview on NPR's Fresh Air was one of the funniest that show's ever carried. Terry didn't know what to do, poor thing.
