Prince Christmas Tune?

Has Prince ever made a Christmas themed record?
Or which of Prince's songs were at the top of the charts for Christmas?
Can anyone help???

it's the closest he's come from what i can think at this early hour. it was the b-side to 'i would die 4 u', which was released in the winter of '84...given the re-recording on side A of the 12" single and the quality of the b-side, it certainly felt like a christmas gift to me at the time...

Another Lonely Christmas - geez, what a depressing song for Christmas, all about his girlfriend dying. I'm sure it was Prince having a joke at the expense of all those happy jolly Christmas songs we usually get!

There is a track called Snow Man, he supposedly worked on this with Nona Gaye, but it is unreleased, and I've never even heard it...

Oh no, wait, I have heard it - but it's Nona Gaye singing, not Prince. I'm not aware of version circulating with Prince's vocal on it.

It is a nice song, sounds sweet. If I remember correctly, Prince is doing some backgrouns vocals on it.

I have the Nona gaye version.
If there is a Prince version i haven't heard it.

I like how he incorporates Auld Lang Syne and Purple Rain..his guitar playing is really good too.
And he openly admits that he doesnt know the words.

exactly. Prince is now a strict Jehovah's witness and isn't interested in any sort of holidays, so don't expect anything like this.

He used to really enjoy the holidays and the Christmas cards from P.P. were always a nice little item for those behind the paisley curtain. One was an image that looked like one of those 'shake it and it snows' image of Paisley Park. Pretty nice, but now that Christmas doesn't exist, a collector's item. I remember he gave out wrapped Christmas gifts in the early 90s at his Glam Slam club in Los Angeles. It was a videotape of the Ryde Devyne (spell?) ABC show. The wrapping paper was made specifically for Prince. Again, don't go looking for that stuff anymore.
