Well done!

All of those lessons in grammar, spelling and punctuation clearly paid off.

That's great - music is all about inspiration. Not only was Prince's music an inspiration to you, but your message is an inspiration to others.

Congratulations, good luck and remember - never stop learning.

Ditto, although i am kinda used to these sort of comments... It's not so bad if they're in the name of fun (as my siggy shows)... but when it is done too much it just gets unfair.

Oh, c'mon, it's called a dry sense of humour. Sarcasm maybe the lowest form of wit - but it's still wit, and as such, I embrace it!

Sarcasm is the only form of wit

As I said, christracy - "Well done".

(And with sarcasm being the lowest form of wit, and only half my comments being potentially genteel and decorous, I guess that singles me out as a right half wit - please take it in the way it was intended).

wink

I take the line to mean that a boy who stays in school will be more 'aware' ie well-rounded and intelligent, especially in later life.

Not knocking education at all, but that doesn't always hold true. There are plenty of people out there who left school early and went on to be very successful people. It always seems like millionaires invariably ducked out of school early to pursue their entrepeneurial dreams...

The vast majority of millionaires are people like you and me, who worked hard all their life, saved some money, and watched it grow over time.

There are very few really rich people who dropped out of high school. There aren't many more who dropped out of college. Education is absolutely the key to financial success.

What a lot of people fail to realize is that one of the most important things you can learn at school isn't in a book. It's how to deal with people. You can learn that at school without any financial penalty.

Show me a millionaire who stayed in school and I'll show you one who stayed away. Off the top of my head of some of the most famous self-made millionaires:

Bill Gates - dropped out of college
Steve Jobs - dropped out of college
Stephen Wozniak - dropped out of college
Alan Sugar - dropped out of school
Richard Branson - dropped out of school

Okay, Donald Trump stayed in college, but his dad was already rich, so you can't argue that he was 'self-made'.

For a list of other rich school drop outs: http://education.independ...e13060.ece

The vast majority of millionaires are people like you and me, who worked hard all their life, saved some money, and watched it grow over time.

Actually, as much as I'd like to believe that, generally it isn't true. There was a program about millionaires on BBC2 a few years back, they tried to find if there were any common elements between millionaires, and one of the things they found is that they constantly risked big to gain big. Many of them had failed businesses many times before finally making it - they just had a huge amount of self belief and kept going at it. It really isn't in their nature in general to do the safe thing and save money and watch it grow. They are constantly trying to make more money, not for the sake of it, but because they enjoy the challenge and proving themselves right.

What a lot of people fail to realize is that one of the most important things you can learn at school isn't in a book. It's how to deal with people. You can learn that at school without any financial penalty.

I agree that the ability to deal with people is key, and you can learn some of that at school, but school is often far removed from 'the real world' and you learn a lot more about how to deal with people when you leave school.
