It's nice and the vocal delivery is cool in places but he's written better ballads IMO  if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

It's a very good song. It's perfect for what it is. It's one of those ballads that you'd hear from a conventional singer which in Prince's catalogue makes it a standout track. You don't get too many of these from Prince. Like Arms of Orion it is straight-forward, only it's not cheesy. (for the record I like Arms of Orion) |

I love it. It'so almost hypnotic, the way he softly sings it. It sounds as if he's really in love with the person he wrote it for (if it was for anyone in particular).
And it's more sensual and tender, rather than raw and sexual. | |
