Thats all I can think of now, but they all have blistering guitar solos, a lack of bass and they sound 'white'

when doves cry does not sound very white at all to me! this video and song first came on after Van Halen's "Panama" video to be followed by the cars "Magic" and then Ratt's "round and round"... now those others are white. I think when doves cry sounds completely black soulful screamin. Just the choice of those oriental sounding keys is so Rick James style funky/Sly Stone deep bass on that drum pounding like a tribal war..
