How about you encourage her to go to college and get a real job? One that she can practice her entire life, not just til she doesn't look young anymore.

The Beautiful Ones would be a great tune. Starts slow , then work up to a lovely crescendo...oh , words escape the thoughts I'm having...!

She just loves having fun with Men N Women. Can U dig? PEACE N B WiLD!! Guess I can't dig... I had friends who "danced" in extremely upscale places, too. They were convinced they were going to get rich and land a husband. Instead they became alcoholics and drug addicts in order to get up the nerve to go out there night after night. They'd have drinks at the tables with guys (to make the club more money) and go to parties afterwards, doing coke, meth, heroin, etc. They thought it would just be a short term thing (dancing), but soon they started doing private parties and escorting men to functions as eye candy to make more money. Now their looks are fading and they have nothing to show for all of the money they made. And most of the rich men used them briefly and then moved along...no marriages... Each dancer I knew (and most of their co-workers) had also been sexually abused as children/adolescents. I wish your friend the best. I hope these things don't happen to her. I just don't understand why someone would willingly do this if she didn't have to. Could she not find a safer way to have erotic fun with men and women while enjoying Prince music?

if she's a "hardcore Prince fan," then she already knows what makes her wanna shake her ass and get naked, she don't need my help...i don't care what they play, just get undressed...

Nobody making over 60k at their current job would be nuts enough to be stripping "on the side". That job will wear on her...between the drugs and booze the girls consume before they go on to get them in the mood and the fat guy in the front row who looks like just did a guest shot on Jerry Springer drooling on her- she'll be wanting out in 3 months. After that, her soul will start to feel it.
To each their own...but once she starts making $500-$1000 a night, gets a nice car and spendy apt--she'll have a hard time leaving just to keep up with the rent and payments. MANY of the girls turn to prostitution too. Please tell her to be careful-looking out for her body and soul. I wish her well.

BTW, i used to work at a restaurant downtown within 6 blocks of two strip joints(the wherehouse district of Mpls)--many of the dancers came in for their routine shots before they went to work. The look in their eyes says it all. Sad, but true.

There are dancers who are out there that do not need drugs or alcohol to perform and have their mind set on their work as a job and nothing more. There is excellent money to be made, you just have to be smart about it.
Anyway...to add to the list here: Hide The Bone - Crystal Ball album

Everyone I knew who did it, along with most of their friends, thought they could handle it in the beginning. Sure, there are a few (but very few) who can avoid the problems, but most girls end up worse off rather than better.

It doesnt have to be that way...& doesn't always that turn out that way... Yes, well it was sad because they were all nice, intelligent women who thought they were independent and could handle whatever happened. They insisted that they had the power, cause men were turning over lots of money to them on a nightly basis just to see their bodies. But in the end, these guys still had all of the money they'd ever need because they could make it themselves without relying on anyone else, while my friends were left used, drug addicted and miserable. Sure, it doesn't always turn out that way or have to be that way. But it usually is...talk to the ones who either used to dance or have danced for many years--they'll tell the real deal.
