June 11 in Prince history - Sticky Wicked recorded June 11, 1988 - Two days after recording an instrumental track called Sticky Wicked, Prince recorded this completely different song also called Sticky Wicked. He later gave this to Chaka Kahn, who released it later in 1988 on her album CK.
The released version also included horns by Miles Davis. The first (and so far only) released Prince / Miles Davis collaboration. Thoughts on Prince's collaborations with Chaka? Thoughts on Prince's collaborations with Miles? Thoughts on Prince recording two songs by the same name?

I have CK and I love Sticky Wicked. It's stripped-down funk and it has Prince written all over it. That little guitar lick and the sax and trumpet are great. It gets especially funky during the instrumental ending.
Eternity is also on the album, though it doesn't do much for me. I've heard Prince's version and it's very similar. Anyone else like Sticky Wicked? Ecnirpnz "If I was your girlfriend I could never take the place of your man".
