Let's Imagine it 1976 at the Apollo in New York

Imagine an eighteen-year-old Prince Rogers Nelson is introduce as a talented musician all the way from the Twin Cities. The audience applauds, and out comes a 5'2'' long hair mulatto wearing satin gym shorts, leg-warmers, and high-heeled boots. He mumbles his greeting to the Apollo’s audience and launch into a song about wanting to be your lover.

Does the audience cheer, sit silently in shock or call for the clown to sweep the freak off the stage?

The apollo crowd has always given love to those that are talented. Despite his freakish looks, if his voice and music were correct, he would have been fine.

He wouldn't even make it to the stage.
Security would stop him as soon as he walked out the dressing room,

honestly, I would boo his ass in 1976, i've heard that wayyy early shit, nadeari, nighting gale and i hate it with a PASSION! i'm really not in2 early early prince, his voice is too damn high and at times i dont even know what he's saying, and performing i wanna be ur lover makes it EVEN worse. maybe i'm yours, in love, or its gonna be lonely but NOT i wanna be...also why those ugly ass shorts?! the outfit he wore on bandstand would be better
