Ok, I'm showing my age here. I had just turned 13 and saw the album cover (big CD's for you kiddies) of Prince with the relaxed hair, moustache and just damn sexiness all over it. I bought it because of the cover. When I got it home and listened to it. OMG! I was hooked forever. Anything he came out with I could explain to all the people around me. It was just magic.

It was When Doves Cry for me. I was 14 and fell totally in love with him after I saw Purple Rain.
I heard 1999 and Litttle Red Corvette, but I wasn't a fan of those songs. I do like them now, though weirdly enough.

I discovered Prince through the hits/the b sides.....so it's hard to pick just one song. The whole album got me interested.....but if I had to pick just one I'd say PINK CASHMERE.

"When Doves Cry" on Top of the Pops back in '84/'85.
Shortly after I heard 1999 and "Let's Pretend we're Married" at a friend's. Life would never be the same again...

Hmmm... perhaps "Diamonds & Pearls" and "Little Red Corvette". Those two were the most important in that respect.

Y'all? I wanna be your lover. I had gone to the store to pick up "Knee Deep" by Funkadelick and picked up 'Lover' by mistake. I didn't realize it until I got home. I've been hooked ever since

Same here! I did like some of his earlier songs, but Kiss made me buy my first Prince album. I listened to Parade 24/7, and never before had any artist made me so intrigued. Great was my joy when I found out that he had released loads of albums before, and I went out and bought everything I could get my hands on. Well, lucky-lucky us. Lucky-lucky-luck.

Actually... When the Batman soundtrack came out... My Brother and I were hooked on BatDance...We were just little kids... I had no idea of Prince or who he was, but loved the song and the music...When I actually got into Prince, I was dumbfounded by the irony....

Hearing the opening guitar riff for "Kiss" caught my attention. But I didn't divulge until I heard "Housequake" for the first time. That did it for me... Ooh, little darlin' if you're
