Blender "Top 500"

I've read Prince has the most (nine) songs in Blender's Top 500 list.

Another meaningless list, for sure, but does anyone where and which of his songs placed?

I got the Blender Mag in the mail Monday. The songs and ranks are:

24 I Could Never Take The Place Of U're Man
98 When You Were Mine
106 Little Red Corvette
113 Nothing Compare 2 U
152 I Feel For You
169 When Doves Cry
259 Kiss
375 Purple Rain
412 If I Was Your Girlfriend

This was Blender's Top 500 Greatest Songs since you were born list. All the songs on the list were songs that came out between 1980 and today. I thought a lot of it was pathetic but I don't make the list. It's great that Prince has a lot of songs on the list but why is WDC so damn low. It's whatever.

6 Like A Prayer - Madonna

It's good to know Brittany Spears' song ranks 160 spots ahead of WDC, 250 spots ahead of Kiss, and 366 spots ahead of Purple Rain.

By the way, how many pounds of crack was ingested before the list was finalized?

The only Wham! song on there was Careless Whisper at #248 under George Michael's name. Also, George's Freedom is at #131.

Rat bastards! I knew that was a mistake to let George take all the credit for that song. The bloody guitar doesn't play itself you know.

I'm assuming my "Shake" from Son of Albert was left off the list. Typical elitist head up their arse morons.

Blender sucks ass. It's just a Maxim magazine.

They're just putting shit like 50 Cent and Britney Spears so high on the list to appeal to teenagers.

No one in their right mind can possibly think "Hit Me Babby, One More Time" is a better crafted pop song than When Doves Cry.

Come on!

When I saw Britney at #9 and saw WDC at 169, I wanted to break something. It didn't hel that I had a headache before reading it. I swear, the whole issue made my headache worse. Blender keeps on losing credibility with me.

OK, now I see how Adore got left off. That Britney even made the damn list much less the top 10 explains it. When they say Top 500 they must mean sales or some other meaningless gauge. They obviously couldn't mean actually great songs. They just couldn't...could they...no they couldn't...couldn't possibly...it just can't be...it just can't...

The way this list goes, it's just as well. Outkast, number 2? 50 Cents, number 10? They're not bad, but why these rankings? This list ought to infuriate fans of hip hop/rap more than Prince fans. It just shows how little judgment and perspective went into it.

Yes it was and the I Feel For You version is Chaka Khan's. Sorry I didn't clear that up before.
