well it has been many times that i wish that Prince have never existed at all. because of his attitude. how about you all? i know am not ther only one who has felt like this before any through i havent met him but from the stories i heard abou him being an asshole it really makes me wonder.

I have noticed some of your comments about his attitude on some of the other threads where it has been discussed. You seem to be really worried about his attitude.

His attitude is one of the things I like about him, although he can go overboard with it sometimes. It's his way of fighting back. He's short and he's been messed with about it his whole life growing up. He's also feminine. I know he was probably tormented to hell and back about that when he was growing up. It's only natural that he would have an attitude.

Don't worry about it though. You probably will never meet him and if you do, he would probably be nice to you because you sound like a person that would come across as being careful not to say the wrong things to him and courteous with your questions. It's usually his bandmates, associates, and people close to him that he shits on. I've never really heard any stories of him shitting on fans unless they did something rude like taking pictures without his permission.

You seem to be really concerned with a complete stranger's behaviour. Yes, if reports are to be believed, he's not the nicest person out there. But you know what? You're fan; a consumer of his music -of which, despite(or maybe even because of) his personality flaws, he does a damn good job at making. That's what you should be concerned about.

I always feel uncomfortable whenever he starts and started preaching. I really have no problems with his references to God or whatever. But with his songs you can make up your own mind. I don't need Prince tellin's me what to think, an artist (any) should . make U think.

I always wanted to meet Prince.

But I must confess I was very tired of him from 97-2000...his music was sounding ´tired´ and ´plastic´ like he was doing it on auto-pilot (of course some good moments too). But it doesnt mean I wouldnt like to talk to him...I just wasnt excited about his album releases and fearing his music was only going to be worse and worse...

I am glad it didnt happen! I am very happy with him now...great musicianship, great band, less androgyny, he seems happier as a person and playing guitar very well...I am just curious for the next album

If you really have issues with Prince then why post negative stuff on a Prince FAN site. Not everything he does is great, but if you don't like him or his music then switch to another flavor. It's your life!

Yes. Tiffany. While there never was a time I didn't want P. to exist, when he went all judgemental, no-cursing, changing-lyrics, became Jehovah-witnessy, etc. ... of course I bailed to some extent... needed some distance...

I mean this is a man who encouraged masses to create their own reality and not play by societal rules ... and then he joins up with an man-made organized religion ... and a pretty extreme one at that. It was definitely a WTF 'who r U?' moment.


P.S. I always laugh when people critique fans for studying and responding to the artist as a person in additional to their music. Music is so beyond entertainment and can become so intensely personal. Of course, we're going to probe deeply the persona creating it...
