Something big is coming..... ....I can feel it in the air..... any predictions? A top old-school album featuring big-name guests.... a real classic. The biggest gap before was between the 1999 album and you know what! “Tuna, you better do something or else we gonna have to put you back in the can!”

If his new music is gonna sound like Musicology or SST, he can keep it to himself. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

Indubitably fans will herald it as "his best album since Sign 'O' The Times" like every other album he has made since Sign 'O' The Times. [Edited 9/18/05 14:03pm] FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

If im honest the 'older' fans aren't really gonna love most of his new product that he brings out anyway, because he isn't the same old prince we all know, the music back then was so much more, now it all just sounds the same, but for new fans anything new is great...hard time for prince and other musicians! I think we're definately going to get something new and fresh.
Possibly a jazz, rock, funk fusion album with oldschool ballads, a little bit of hip hop, and religious themes.

[Edited 9/18/05 15:56pm] Though a relatively new fan, I was intro'd to Prince through his older work and personas. For the most part, New Prince just strikes me as an old man trying to cop the style of artists that came before him instead of playing around and making something new. He criticizes new acts (and deservedly so!) for their lack of creaitivity or originality, but instead of coming out with something new and fresh to show them what's what (not to compete with them -even at his worst he's better than most current acts) he's just recycling James Brown et al. See? It's not just the old school fans that bitch about his new direction. [Edited 9/18/05 16:17pm] "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Something big is coming.....
What about the official release of the terrific unedited LA ( Staples Center) concert video of the Musicology tour that circulates on bootleg now?

[Edited 9/18/05 15:56pm] I can't stand when this weak defense of Prince's new music inevitably gets regurgitated. Most fans here who complain about Prince's new music do not want a sequel to the sounds he used on Purple Rain or 1999. What they want is that same inspiration that made those albums brilliant. That's what I and many others long for. Not necessarily the Prince who sang about cumming on his girl's wedding dress or a girl masturbating to a magazine, but simply the Prince who demanded that every album be great and important. It's true though; when the new album drops, there will be tons of people saying it's his best work in ten years. Then when a few months pass, we'll likely just be begging for the next album and laying down our unrealistic demands yet again. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
