Anyone else at the Wembley show, July 31st 1993? Hearing the Thunder ballet on NPGMC this morning reminded me of standing there for a few hours, with this playing over and over and over again. People were so sick of waiting by the time it finally ended and Prince came on. Remember that?
"D:Influence - U influence me..." Great show...

Fantastic show, I also managed to track down a CD of it which is a cool listen from time to time!

I was there - and felt it was only an ok gig - one that put me off stadium gigs for life - having seen the difference of watching Prince at a Wembly Arena, Earls Court, Caref De Paris and the Apollo - as good as he is - Stadium gigs suck.
That said his stadium gig was better a certain MJs and U2s - that I had seen prior to that.

The only thing that was wrong with the show were the closing numbers. A few tracks which I believe at the time were not at all known. This meant Prince closed the show with nothing for the audience to sing along to. A very bad move.

The encore still rocked though.

that last 40 minutes was one of his FINEST MOMENTS EVER!
Come, Endorphinmachine, peach and Johnny done fresh and with life. And the speech he gave 4 10 minutes set it all up it was superb! Luminous beings are we...not this crude matter.
Is this 2morrow or just the END of time? The Funk will always b with u "I've got a face, not just my race, Bang Bang I've got you babe!"

Yeah, it was great but ,like someone else mentioned, it put me off stadium gigs. I was down on the pitch and, whilst feverish and intense, the view ain't too great and I'll never forget the kinda worrying surge at the beginning of the show! I mean, I expected when he came on for a move, but I was carried like 50 yards!! Suppose I was nearer tho Webley Arena is better, Hammersmith Apollo even better but nothing will surpass the intimacy of Brixton Academy or Bagley's
Believe it or not, I saw a shooting star go overhead towards the end of the gig - cheesey as fuck, but it was a great moment at the time ...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

I was there as well. My only memories are of a total lack of atmosphere, and wishing I hadn't persuaded my friend to see Prince live for the first time at that show.
Made up for it at later gigs, though! Max ...I go 2 the max...I'm not afraid...I wanna dance...
