what do you think about prince's versions of jimi hendrix songs there was a rumor prince was going to record jimi hendrix trubute a whole album.
during 1999 people that organised woodstock 2 begged prince to close woodstock with jimi hendrix medley. prince refused... what do you ppl think of prince's versions of jimis songs. do you think he did justice to purple house,them changes(actualy buddy miles song) voodoo chile slight return,villanova junction . i like purple house but vooodoo child is awful. he played it sub standard. also there is a studio version of purple haze recorded by prince during sessions for 1999 album. | |

The only outtake from that time period that I'm aware it could have been is 'Purple Music' - an unreleased Prince composition - rather than 'Purple Haze'.

I love both of the Purple House covers (Rave DVD and Power of Soul- Jimi tribute) but the Rave one has the better guitar solo. Where do I find the cover of Voodoo Chile Slight Return?! |
