i love it! the melody,the funk towards the end, the lyrics, the meaning, it's one of the most quality tracks Prince has evr written IMO.

Just think if he relleased it as a single with a video etc... it would easily make the top 5 in the charts if all money went to Hurrican Relief.

I think the lyrics are hurried and sometimes nonsensical. I like the musical flow of the song until the end though where it just seems like Prince tacked something onto it.

Why is it that everytime Prince releases a new song people say it's one of his best ever or "best in ten years" (Like I saw on another thread).

IMO it's a nice little track but nothing very special besides the fact that he is donating the money to a good cause. Although realistically its going to be a very small donation in relation to what others are doing.

would prince realistically make a difference if it was him instead of another star performing in the benefits and all that stuff? wouldn't they raise just as much money without him, but he'd also benefit from the publicity by performing songs?

personally i wonder, i reckon 3 downloads, even if the first two or just SST sell more, he'll raise a 6 figure sum, which from one person is sizeable. celebrities might go to benefits and perform, may even make a donation, but if 400k people are registered on the npgmc, even if many of them don't go on the site anymore now the tour is over, its perfectly possible the downloads will top 100k, especially if it gets abit of publicity about it. and that would raise nearly 100k if just one song went over 100k, say he ends up with 200k downloads, thats $144,00 right there presuming even everyone who has paid is a member

sure overall its small but from one person its not too shabby, plus i think he'd view performing a benefit as benefitting from it himself, i know this gets people onto the store too and all that, but performing a greatest hits set to millions of people across america, would probably benefit him more.
