Exodus and Goldnigga

Is it still possible to find either of these albums? and which one is the best?

Also which one has the most Prince sounding stuff on it? I mean is he leading the songs or are the NPG leading some?

Never have had either one so i'm sorta interested to see what you all think of them.

You can find 'em on eBay, but they'll most likely cost a lot.

Exodus has some great songs, but it's totally full of segues. That makes it kind of annoying to sit through.

Goldnigga is a piece of shit album with that horrid "rapper" Tony M.

You'll enjoy Exodus, methinks. It's full of songs that sound like Prince at the top of his game, except he's given them to his NPG band.

Goldnigga is the better album. The songs are better and it is hellafunky. Tony's rapping fits quite well with this album.

I have both of them--got them both from ebay. Exodus was reasonably priced (under $10) but I paid A LOT for a legitimate 16 track Goldnigga. I don't listen to either one much, but I like Exodus better. Return of the Bump Squad is funky. dancing jig
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

If you like Come & The Gold Experience then you should get Exodus.
Those 3 cds work great together.
Exodus also has a few cd singles that are well worth getting.
Goldnigga has a few great tunes & a lot of mediocre tunes.
Its worth getting for the few great tunes.

I'll repeat what I said on HQ (seems like a regular excusion these days!):

Exodus is a great funk record with the best NPG line-up (IMO) - It has a lot of segues, but most add, rather than detract from the 'xperience'.

My fav tracks: Hallucination Rain, ROTBS, Cherry, Cherry, Exodus Has Begun, NPS

Gold Nigga is quite the opposite, with regard to segues - they're tiresome here. But largely the tracks themselves are decent, and the record has a live band feel about it (the sound that is), much like prince

My fav tracks: Call The Law (MDM2Night b-side), Oil Can, Goldies Parade, Deuce & 1/4.

"Exodus" was cool, "Goldnigga" was what it was, more of a showcase for Tony M. with a few decent songs: "2gether" being the best, i think. "Exodus" would have been better minus some of the segues (which were more like in-jokes mainly, like the crew just decided they had nothing better to do so they put these Richard Pryor-wannabe moments on tape, then decided to release them because they themselves laughed), and minus the cursing in "Count the Days". That song could've had a little more impact without it, i believe.

I rather listen to segues which stopped being funny after a while (mashed potato girl still cracks me up though), than listen to crap like Musicology, ONA Live or TRC which bore me from beginning to end.

The cursing in Count The Days is essential.

Exodus is worth buying for 'The Exodus Has Begun' alone. One of the best things Prince has ever been a part of and best played as loud as possible.

Exodus is a whole lot of fun, and has some great, funky music on it. The segues are cool for a couple of listens, then you find yourself burning a copy without them.

Gold Nigga is musically sound, but it is ruined by the annoying "rapping" of Tony M. Still, it's worth picking up for "Black MF in the House" (Prince does his redneck voice!) and "Johnny".
