All I can say is nobody, I mean N-O-B-O-D-Y on this planet could've played Ray Charles better then Jamie Foxx did. Bottom Line.

Prince would look absolutely rediculous playing Ray Charles. The two of them don't look, act, or sound anything alike. Andy is a four letter word.

Ya know, we must be off our ASS bored to seriously respond to this! In the tradition of the wages of a stupid question, here's a stupid answer:
Sure, I think Prince would been a waaaaay better Ray! I think he got the shaft for the roles of Kunta Kinte and Dorothy Dandrige as well. It's an outrage I tell ya!!! Shake....shake, shake, shake.

Prince definitely couldn't have done Ray but, I'd love to see him play Little Richard in a movie. Oh, man Little Richard acts like such a queen sometimes, It would be so classic to see him doing that wop bop a loo bop a wap bam boom!!!

jacktheimprovident said: In terms of voice, Prince is a great singer but he's never demonstrated the ability to immitate a voice like Ray's.
I guess you haven't heard the demo of "Uh-huh (You Got The Right One, Baby)", the song that Prince wrote for Ray's Pepsi commercial in 1991... On his demo recording (especially the intro part), Prince imitates Ray's singing with such detail that it's actually quite scary... And on a song that Ray, at that time, hadn't even sung yet! Also, on the "Live at the Aladdin" DVD during the 2nd verse of "Strange Relationship", Prince does a little Ray Charles-thing with both his voice ("Yes-ah") and his body movements at the piano. He then looks over his shoulder at the band with a grin, indicating that this might be some kind of inside joke. But it's very subtle, and you'd have to be familiar with Ray to really get it... [Edited 9/16/05 15:18pm] LOL, so there is proof that Prince wrote "Uh-Huh" and didn't just take credit for it, like alleged in this thread... http://www.prince.org/msg/7/156556 That's good to know! I'm popping in "Live at the Aladdin" right now to check his Ray Charles bit, I must have missed it the other dozens of times I watched it. Must have been too busy to notice.

NO, Prince is way too light to play the Late Ray Charles. I think Jamie Foxx did a Excellent job playing Ray Charles. "Shut Up, Already. DAMMM!!!!!!!"

Well, I guess I'm not sure about that... but in any case, a Prince recording of the song does exist, with an eerie Ray Charles imitation. Personally, I think Prince did write it.

Uh...Jamie WASN'T singing, h was lip synching to Ray's cuts. "But what of black women? . . . I most sincerely doubt if any other race of women could have brought its fineness up through so devilish a fire." -- W.E.B. Du Bois --

The funny thing is, this is true. If there were a casting call to play Prince in a movie Prince wouldn't get the part. In fact, Jamie Foxx could probably get the part even though they look nothing alike. Prince is no better suited to play Mozart or John Lennon than he is to play Ray. Jamie was perfect in that movie. Why would you even come up with this? Jamie did not sing, they used Ray's real voice and recordings. Also prince's acting is so bad, he couldn't even play himself in Purple Rain.

Basically, They are saying that Ray Charles ended to be replaced by Prince singing Ray Charles....
