The original Rave un2 the Joy Fantastic I am very intrigued by this rumored album from 1988. I've heard the original demos of both Rave un2 the Joy Fantastic and Pink Cashemere both from around this time and rumored to be on the album. After hearing the demo for Rave, I must say he took out the best parts of the song for the one he put out in '99. I mean, if it were me I would have just left it in the vault, but parts of the unreleased version are really cool, especially the original ending. Of course, the live version from back then was ten times better anyway. I'm just intigued by this album because it seems like an interesting project, and at the same time I wonder how weak it would've been (comparing it to Sign and Lovesexy). It probably sounded like the Batman material. I think Prince was going through a weak period after Lovesexy up through Diamonds and Pearls. He was in a drought, but he had done so much great stuff between 85 and 88 he probably had it coming.

I'd love to see the original artwork if any. I know that Camille and the Dream Factory along with Crystal Ball all had artwork ready to go!

Just think,if Prince had not been talked into doing the 'Batman' soundtrack in early 1989,he most likely would have released this 'Rave Unto the Joy Fanatastic' album instead.
