It's a half-hearted attempt to stop the files being passed around for free. You aquire this license by playing the file once while connected to the internet. It won't play on your portable because you have transferred the file but not the license. Best thing to do would be to burn the track to a CD using Windows Media Player on your original pc, then copy it back onto your computer - that removes the protection, and then you can play the file anywhere.

Ok... thanks... is it possible to just copy the license and then put it on the portable? Oh Shiiit... I'm Satisfied

You can try it, but I don't think it works, I think there's something in the license that makes it individual to the pc it is downloaded on. If your portable is connected to the internet, you could try playing it and acquire a license for that pc.

You should be able to do the latter - I have switched equipment and downloaded tracks and licences a second time which show up in my account. . ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.
