ATWIAD outtakes... are there any? I could not see any from what I read in "The Vault." Curious if I missed something. Thanks for any feedback you can offer  | |

I suppose it depends on your definition. There were a few other tracks recorded
around the time which were not released, but none of them were ever considered for inclusion on ATWIAD. So strictly speaking, there were no outtakes for that album. | |

Yes. Two. One of them sounds like a remix. The other one like a longer version of which the album version is an edit. I have one of the alternate versions . . . it's a lot faster, and also has a higher voice and less of the "Arabic" feel. |

Although there were no songs that were taken off of ATWIAD, I’d have to list the songs that were recorded during this period. Although those aren’t exactly outtakes, that rule has been broken when many are making lists in the past.
The tracks I can think of are: ATWIAD (alt. versions) Paisley Park-instrumental-different than actual song (recorded 3/9/84) Our Destiny (June 7 1984) Roadhouse Garden (June 7, 1984) Small Grey Monkey This isn’t much of a list. I’ve also not included The Dance Electric, Love & Sex, and a few others. The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018.
