So are we were all in agreement? (when doves cry) That Prince's "best" song is when doves cry... it may noy be your "personal favorite" but it is the "BEST"
in terms of songwriting skills, the beat, melody, rythm etc... it is the "BEST" hit. do we all feel the same? | |

it's a cool "tune" -- one of his best
mostly because of its cool beat but i wouldn't classify it as a "song" try playing this on the piano it doesn't work it has a one note melody for the most part and not much of a harmony the song relies heavily on its Linn pattern to make it interesting in terms of songwriting, i would classify "purple rain" or "anna stesia" as one of his best oh yeah, and i can't stand "billie jean" that drum beat drives me off the wall [Edited 9/11/05 18:27pm] | |

I totally agree."When Doves Cry" is Prince's best song.Because it was such a massive commercial hit,some fans don't like to give it the props it deserves.If only one Prince song could be called a classic,it would have be "When Doves Cry". | |
