Holy River

this has been my favorite P song since the first time I heard it, and I go back to 82, I just saw the video on cyberclips, Mayte looked so cute, I wish they could have stayed together and happy as they once were, but I guess shit happens to all of us.

To an extent it still suffers from the sterility of Emancipation as a whole, but stand-alone, it's a standout from the 90s.

Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Heiress

It's a sentimental song, which is why some people don't like it, I guess. But it contains a strong spiritual statement which can be traced back to practically the beginning of his career. HR is the long-anticipated moment where he finds his soul mate.

It is a lovely, heartwarming song. One of the best tracks off Emancipation. nod

I think this is one of the most personal and powerful songs he has ever written.

I love it.

I love this song too, especially the guitar at the end. At times it's a little too "rhyme-y", but that's OK too. smile

"But this time I was listenin'"

Don't know why, but I love that. I play that song for the stretch part of a fitness class I teach; people always ask me who it is.

Its a great song. Maybe slighty MOR though, not that I care.

It can make a tear fall sometimes. Infact, i should not hear it at the mo', as it would remind me that my loved one is going away to uni soon. SO no happy ending for me (unlike the song)

I Have to agree. When this sond first came out I wasn't very touched, but now I cry. Don't know why because it has no emotional or symbolic meaning to me.

I like this song nod, but why is there a pause in the video in cyberclips before the guitar starts in? But on the Emancipation cd the guitar starts right away. hmmm
