SST On The Radio! I'm certain it's due to the Hurrican Radio Relief programming this morning, but KDWB in MPLS, the local top 40 station, just played SST!
Who knows if they will keep playing it, but 3 people called me in the last few minutes to say "I think Prince is on the radio....is this new...i really like it!" So, who knows, Prince has received a bit of coverage in the local press for SST, maybe some radio play can help get people to the song. Has anyone else heard this on the radio? If not, get requesting!

Below is the Mpls StarTribune blurb about SST from Sept 7:
Prince sings about Katrina After keeping quiet for most of the year, Prince couldn't stay silent about the Hurricane Katrina disaster. The Minneapolis rock legend released a new single via his website over the weekend called "S.S.T.," which was inspired by the tragedy and will benefit relief efforts. It's available for a $.99 download at www.npgmusicclub.com. Written and recorded in one long late-night session after he watched TV coverage of the hurricane's aftermath, the song includes barbed lyrics about "giving guns to the poorest of our nation's sons" and "the one depleting our oil supply." The piano-led single concludes with Prince asking, "Did you have your arms open for each and everybody? Or did you let them die in the rain, endless war, poverty or hurricane?" "S.S.T." refers to Sade's "Sweetest Taboo," a song looped on the NPG Music Club site after the hurricane hit. The site is also offering Mavis Staples' version of the Prince-written gospel tune "U Will Be Moved" to benefit disaster relief. Chris Riemenschneider

Just listened to XM satellite radio the 80's and after playing A love Bizzare the DJ said he was waiting for FedEx with TWO new songs from Prince. He said teh songs are for victims of Hurricane Katrina. He also told people to go to the website and download the songs. Everybody's lookin 4 the ladder, it's in the garage

The fact that you have friends who listen to KDWB is sad
I'm assuming they played it because all the stations in the city are doing the Katrina drive today and it would fit the bill.

Amy listens to that show so I guess I am also sad but I would seriously have to consider punching (figure of speech) that female host if I were ever to meet her I took KDWB out of the rotation of my work radio so I wouldn't accidentally have to hear her .

I haven't even heard the song yet and I'm already tired of it. Everybodies talkin' about it. [Edited 9/9/05 13:50pm] Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.
