Who are you kinda surprised Prince hasn't worked with?? I could really see him doing a song with The Eurythimics, Alicia
Keys, The Roots, Janet Jackson, Santana or The Red Hot Chilli Peppers All these people are creditable musicians in one sense or another I'm suprised he hasn't worked with them. It would be interesting to see what would come of some of these couplings

Im surprised he hasn't worked with Common yet. They both mentioned eachother on their albums. Prince on the Mellow song "Macy and Common were there" on the Rainbow Children album. Common said something like "Little Red Corvette, no she was faster", on one of his songs that was hot I might add, video was cool too. I think they should work 2gether, if they work 2gether that would B magic material. Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Studio 'collaboration' Common - Star *69 (PS With Love) from 'Electric Circus'. Common is known to have attended Paisley Park in July, 2001, during the period of recording 'Electric Circus', but it is reported that Prince did not attend. However, Prince is credited with instrumental contribution on this track. Performed live together: Metro, Chicago, 17 November, 2000. Prince performs an aftershow with Macy Gray and Common both performing. Paisley Park, 14 June, 2001 - Prince guests first on keyboards, and later on vocals during Common's set. Xcel Energy Center, St Paul, 15 June, 2001 - Common guests on stage during the finale jam, 'Come On'. . [Edited 9/8/05 10:44am] ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Strangely enough I can see Prince doing something with Mary J. Blidge.
I also wonder why he and Lenny have never gone in the studio together? If you will, so will I

Considering how Eric Clapton has worked with everyone, and knowing that he and P have a huge amount of respect for each other's guitar skills, I am surprised EC has never shown up on a Prince studio recording.
Santana is a big one, though - every time a new Santana collaboration album comes out, I check to see if Prince is on it. You know P would get some exposure out of that. In fact, I'm surprised P hasn't brought Santana in for some studio track on Prince's own album too.

You are ... there's no Prince song or involvement on any track on 'Mama's Gun' They've simply performed live together several times, as well as Prince having coverd a couple of her songs live in the past. . ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

I'm not surprised that Prince hasn't worked with these people. That's part of Prince being "Prince". He's been known for doing everything himself since day one. What surprises me, is the rare times that he has worked with other artists such as the "Rave" album. Prince doesn't need to work with anyone except himself and the last people he needs to work with is any tired artist that came out from the 1990s to the present.
People may argue that working with someone would give Prince a more up to date present sound. That's the last thing I want. Someone needs to turn things around and get us away from this dead musical era we have been in since the early 1990s. If I want to hear something dead, I'll listen to the radio. If I want to hear something good, I'll listen to Prince. As much as I love to down the "Parade" album for having corny shit on it, songs like "Do U Lie" and "Venus De Milo" sound as hard and funky as "1999" compared to today's dead ass artists' music. Andy is a four letter word.

They must already have an album worth of material by now, altough most of it is probably just studio jams they've done together. Little silly things, I've seen these things mentioned in interviews. They were somewhat close friends in the late 90s. Why there has been no recorded & released Santana collaboration is a bit of a mystery to me as well.

Well there is no point in pretending that Prince is a complete Lone Ranger... In the past he has worked with Sheena Easton, Paula Abdul, Kate Bush, Martika and George Clinton. I was just wondering what artists everybody else could picture him working with

I'm very surprised that he hasn't worked with the members of the Stone City Band . All jokes aside. How about Dave Matthews? Now that would be an interesting collaboration. Maxwell would be another one. Has he ever jammed with the Roots? ?uestlove has made it known that he's into Prince. Maybe Maroon 5.
