I hear a lot hate against it, but I believe that it is pleasant and makes TGE just a bit more enjoyable with something linking the songs together. I like the idea of it. It helps the album flow and makes it a bit more fun to listen to. I'd also like to voice my appreciation for just about all his segues including the ones on the Symbol album(yes, I finally did get it). It just adds to the overall experience(pun intended).It is unlikely that I am the only one on the planet to think this way. There's nothing to be afraid of. Profess your love for the NPG Operator!

and the one on the Exodus album? They are not the
same person are they?

The one on Exodus is actually called "Rain Ivana"
in the linernotes but sound too much like Mayte
to be anyone else imo.

The one on TheGoldExperience could be Nona Gaye???

NPG operator is great! And it makes things more interesting.

When I listen to the whole album, I like the Operator - she segues the songs very nicely.

I think that she would've made more sense if The Gold Experience had included Interactive, as was intended. That would've set the tone as a "computer-interactive" experience.

Either way, she's way better than the Kirstie Alley segues on or the voice-overs on The Rainbow Children.

I wouldn't mind if the Operator made another appearance! Especially since Prince is even more into technology now, and there are still more experiences to choose from . . .

I thought the NPG Operator was a very original and innovative idea at the time. Interactive made the segues approach seem relevant. But on the released configuration of The Gold Experience, the NPG operator segues don't seem quite as relevant.
