I'm not sure about the production on this track anymore. It's dated quite a bit over the more recent times. It basically sounds like a more polished Kate Bush song to me now.

The thing about this song for me is that my mother died just a few months before it was released, so it always reminded me of her.
Especially with lyrics like "bone of my bone" and "flesh of my flesh". I know that context is not what Prince meant, but that's what the song meant to me. Plus, I think it's a beautiful song with a really strong melody.  | |
