Tamborine

Tamborine is such a cool song. I love it, I listened to it today.

Just to all the musicians out there on the org, what instruments did Prince use on that song?

Also do you think that he played it all on the studio track or do you think the rest of the Revolution played in the studio with him?

Tamborine is definitely a one man effort. It’s all Prince baby!! This song kicks so much ass! It really does.

as always, organgrinder has IMPECCABLE taste. i mean, really, he's delicious! wink
tamborine is an INSANELY energetic, psychotic, obsessed song. absolutely one of my all-time fav's. especially when he screams at the end "long days, lonely nights...too bad we're not allowed to scre-eam..(nah nah, too bad)...guess that i'll stay at home, and all alone, play my tambouri-ine!!! aw..."
gotta pop it in right now!

Absolutely my Favorite. It's one of thsoe songs that stand out immediately. I can't imagine anyone else coming up with something like that. It's the lone song on ATWIAD that I had to listen to over and over.

Too Funky

and there ain't nothing funky about bein' cool."

It's just funny to see how much opinions can differ sometimes. Too bad though that we can't deal with it.

It took me awhile to get into that song, but now I love it. The masturbatory lyrics are priceless and the music is very different. The credits on the ATWIAD album (if I remember correctly) indicate that it's a solo effort without the band involved. Either way, it's a great little number.

Why does the high-voiced part sound like he sings "tramp-o-line"...?

While there isn't many Prince songs I think of as terrible, I just really can't get into that song. Although I don't think of it as "terrible" either.
Who's the private d*ck that's a sex machine to all the chicks?
Who's the man that would risk his neck for his brother man?
Who's the cat who won't cop out when there's danger all about?
John Shaft ... Damn Right!
