Anotherloverholeinyohead: Cultural influence?

I remember when this song came out, I kinda thought his Jewish band members influenced the title/lyric here....

The expression "you need (blank) like you need a hole in your head" is very common among Eastern European Jews..... I remember hearing it from grandparents and teachers etc..... the Yiddish/German expression is "Loch im Kopf" (hole in head).

I don't know if I knew at the time that Wendy and Sus were Jewish (or part Jewish), but I knew Fink and Bobby were.....

Unless this expression is mainstream and used by other groups too.

In fact since Susannah co-wrote it (I think, too lazy to look it up now).... and sings all the back ups... it's probably a good guess the expression came from her smile

Weren't Prince and Larry kinda speeking somewhat anti-semetic like at the Celebration or something like that? I thought one of the orgers said that on this board? Hmmmm...didn't know Wendy and Sussannah were part Jewish....intersting. biggrin
