MJ has had 2 good albums in his whole overated career, and that was 20 years ago!

Prince made a good album and had a kick-ass tour LAST year, plus has made 5x the great albums MJ has. He is more prolific, He is a real composer. And he could play circles around MJ on virtualy any instrument.

In the imortal words of Chris Rock.

"Prince won!"

Yeah... the first overated boy band(hyper-rehersed bubble pop does not impress me).

Who never wrote thier own songs. (all written by true musical writers and composers like Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, etc etc)

So what your point?

Prince is easily betta than MJ they r both good, but the fact that P is still making music and not making headlines for all the wrong reasons, and the detail P puts into his music and not just on lyrical value but production, music, etc.
Oh and the fact that P can dance, sing, and play guitar or wateva else all at once, while MJ mainly focus' on his dancing and gets an overdub of him singing the majority of the time, and mimes the words. i think thats just sad that he cares more for his dance moves than his music.....well not any more i spose considering, i dont think his into either ny more if u know wat im sayin wink

Prince edges out the " King Of Pop " in the end - just a pinch though.
First, I bet if Prince had selected only his most top notched songs and then cut an album once every five years like MJ he would have equal amount of sales as Jacko. And where Prince can perform, mix & release his cuts like a breeze in the wind Michael sounds like he has to have EVERY song sound like it's BIGGER, SHARPER & BADDER than the competition...Michael just burned out after Dangerous ( But give him props considering he struck fame at such a young age, broke more records in pop music than anyone before, and Michael's 80's videos were phenominal!!! ) Also nobody in music history has as much backlash than Jackson. I do believe MJ is bar none the best dancer outta the two, and has a more powerful voice than Prince however Prince has more charisma in his vocal styles....
Prince just has more gas in the engine!!

Thriller Still Biggest Seller

According to the new 2006 Guinness Book of World Records, Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' album is still the 'Biggest Selling Album Ever'.

The best-selling album of all time is Thriller by Michael Jackson (USA), with global sales of over 51 million copies to date since 1982. The success of the album also helped Jackson win a record eight Grammy Awards in 1984.'

Prince wins.

Why?

Well, for starters Prince doesn't have an affinity for putting a boy's penis in his mouth.

Look Michael Jackson has been performing since he was 5 years old and recording since he was 10. He used to spend nearly every day recording/performing since he was 10 years old, when the hell was he supposed to learn all these instruments that Prince plays? He didn't have the time ok! He didn't have the same liberties that Prince had when growing up. Jackson 5 didn't write their own songs? You expect a bunch of 10-16 year olds to write their own songs? Later on in their career they did write a lot of their own songs. Even Stevie Wonder didn't write his first songs.

At least MJ plays many instruments now and writes 90% of his songs. Right now Prince is playing a lot of shit that no one wants to hear. Plus he charges an insane amount of money to join his fanclub, and all you get is a bunch of mediocre music.

Well, at least Prince IS playing something, Michael hasn't released anything in ages because he's been too busy covering up his dirty little tracks in court.

Even when he does release something, it's a supremely disappointing and mediocre exercise in treading water, and full of the same indecypherable vocal blips and yelps he's been sprinkling liberally over everything he's recorded for the past 20 years.

As for being a great dancer, the last time I saw him dance was that performance at some MTV awards with N*Sync, and it looked like he needed medical attention.

He danced fine at the 30th anneversary performance. I admit his last album was average and disappointing but at least he only releases average music every few years and not every single year.

clappingclappingclapping
The fact is, if MJ was releasing anything of substance, than alot of the scandal would be slipped under the rug a la R. Kelly, the magical magician.

MJ is tired, P aint. Its science. lol
That Musicology tour was mindblowing, i dont know what the hell your talking bout LadyBoy....
So if we're talking about who musically and actually stood the test of time, P wins. If we're talking about which person had the biggest influence on society and the culture at that time -- early 80s-- then that would be MJ.

I love em both to death, grew up on one (MJ), and matured when i started listening to the other (P).

Lets face it, none of them are releasing top quality shit any more, and it looks like they ever won't reach the same heights they hit in 80 neither artistically or commercially. I'd even say Invincible was better than Musicology. Why was Musicology tour a big hit? It was cos Prince was playing all his hits and semi-conned people by saying that was the last time he was gonna play them, if he solely played material from TRC and Musicology the tour wouldn't have been half as successful. MJ can have a tour as successful as Musicology any time he wants to, all he has to do is book the venues.

MJ opened so many doors for musicians. For example, he was the first black person to be played on MTV, the first non rock artist to be played on MTV. I dunno if Prince would have been as successful if MJ didn't open these doors. Prior to him could a RNB/Pop artist sell out huge outdoor stadiums like Wembley? Hell I don't think they can do that now, except maybe Madonna who came after MJ. The Bad, Dangerous and HIStory tours are the most successful tours ever in terms of attendence, he beat people like Elvis, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, he did this without even playing America in the latter two tours. He was a true phenomenon.

It was a tour not meant for fams or fans, but the consumer music listeners that know Purple Rain and know the Hits. That was evident from the crowds. The shows sounded great though. That was a fucking Victory Tour!!!!!

You gotta eat though, so, P did what he had to do for his pocket and ego. WTF has MJ done. He coulda supported Invincible. His ass was arguing with Sony and doing lame ass interviews that would get him in trouble. His passion has been gone for the last 10 years.

What have you done for me lately, MJ lol
