I downloaded this some time ago (from a live performance in Holland) and it was a pretty tight performance, but I am curious about the songs "Superhero/Disco 9000".

What NPG album was this on?

I don't know about "Disco9000," but "Superhero" is a Prince song that the NPG performed on the Blankman soundtrack, and was also given to Earth, Wind & Fire for their album Millenium.

Me gets the feeling that "Disco9000" is the cover of Billy Preston's 'Outaspace"

Superhero may be one the few Prince related tunes I dislike...

I don't know about its origins, but Disco9000 is how Prince signed off on the song during the live performance.

The song started as Race, then was intertwined with this verse from Superhero:

"Give us what you give your brother, then u'll understand
I won't be ur Superhero..."

Something like that, but then it segways after into a funky instrumental jam, which I am assuming is Disco 9000/some variation of Superhero. Since I have never heard Superhero or Disco 9000, I was under the assumption both were original compositions by P (at least Superhero was).

I think i listened to it once and even at that i got bored halfway through.

It sells for quite a good price on e-bay now.

My CD liner has Prince credited for "Rhythm Arrangement", one of four persons on "Background Vocals", and Keyboards & Drum Programming.
